Aster Yellow? #847423

Asked August 26, 2023, 5:02 PM EDT

I'm wondering if my coneflowers have aster yellow. If so I've read I should dig up the entire plant and destroy. Can I replace with new ones or do I need to plant something else in those spots.

Expert Response

Hi Shari,

It does look like a classic case of asters yellows, however, there is a mite that does similar looking deformities. Maybe try treating it for mites and see if you notice any changes before pulling up the plants.
