Is this a Japanese Yew tree? I have 3 images to attach . First one is 8 MB. Other 2 are less . It does get red berries and does get cones . And it holds a good Christmas tree appearance. Thankyou for your help ?

Good evening Tom and thank you for reaching out to ask2.extension.

I think it  is a Canadian yew.  The Japanese Yew is conical in shape where the Canadian yew looks more like a Christmas tree.

So if it’s not a cone shape it is a Canadian.

Well, thanks for the reply.  I’m a bit puzzled as I read about Canadian Yews it says they grow 3-6 feet . Mine has been at least 8 feet or taller . I have to keep pruning it down to size .

Unless it’s not a Yew .

And to me, a Christmas tree is the shape of a cone. Just upside down . Not sure what you mean by conical .  Conical to me indicates shaped like a cone .  Sorry for the complexity .

It’s definitely a yew so if it is conical shape than you’re right it’s Japanese not Canadian.
