This is a puzzle! If you are able to take a branch with fruit to the Clackamas Extension Office, the master gardener volunteers can help. Click here for contact information. Call to ask about clinic schedule.
We can’t offer advice on edibility, but to pursue plant identification here, share a clear photo of just one leaf. Also a distant view to show the growth habit of the whole tree. Lastly, maybe a photo of the tree trunk with bark will help.

I'm on way to deliver a fruiting branch to Clackamas county office.
I will not automatically find out what clinic volunteers tell you. I hope you’ll post it here for me. When I look at the leaf margin, it looks serrated. This increases likelihood the tree is in the Prunus family. Though as this linked Oregon State Landscape Plants page says, sometimes the leaf edge is smooth (entire in botany terms). The stipules will be an identification clue for folks.
