false widow spider? #846870

Asked August 22, 2023, 6:57 PM EDT

Hi! There is a suspicious-looking spider living between the storm windows of my condo. She looks just like a black widow but is missing the tell-tale red spot. Is this likely a false widow spider or do some black widows not have red markings? I think both are rare in Multnomah county, so I thought I should reach out.

I have attached two sites that may help you. If you can sent a picture of the spider I may be able to ID it.

Best picture I can get. No macro on my phone and no card reader to upload from the real camera. This doesn't really show how shiny black it is.

Received your picture, unfortunately the picture does not give me enough information to make an ID but I can say it is not a black widow.
