My approx. 5 year old Ninebark (Autumn Glow?) appears to be dying. Leaves on some branches were dried and shriveled so I pruned off. Now other branches are dying and many leaves appear to be shriveling. They have dark, crispy edges.

One possibility is the ninebark calligrapha beetle. They have been active lately.

A more likely possibility is fire blight. Ninebarks are susceptible. The shepherd’s crook branches is one indicator. And the water-soaked looking leaves is another. See:
