We can't see the ants in the photos.
However, you might be able to determine whether carpenter ants are present by referring to the identification characteristics illustrated in the following publication. You might have to use a hand lens or other magnification to do that.

Our guess is that the insects in question are carpenter ants, but we can't be sure by viewing the photos.
