I had a friend visiting and took a hike at around 11,500'. Following the hike his dog puked these berries. A local vet could not identify them. I am trying to figure our what they are?

Hello!
That is something in the Ribes (currants & gooseberries) genera but I am not 100% sure on the species. I believe it is most likely alpine prickly currant (Ribes montigenum) or possibly prickly currant (Ribes lacustre).
