Are crocusmia well adapted to our climate in bend? I live on a butte with a southern exposure. I want to use it as a border near a lawn. I have lots of deer Thanks

Expert Response

Hi Mark,

Thank you for your question!  Yes, crocosmia can be successfully grown in Bend.   (Crocosmia is actually listed in our Water-wise Gardening in Central Oregon guide: https://extension.oregonstate.edu/sites/default/files/documents/em9136.pdf ).  You may consider adding some mulch to insulate for the winter.

Please reach out if you have further questions!
