chlorosis #844297

Asked August 05, 2023, 3:16 PM EDT

One of our neighbors thinks our pin oak looks like it has chlorosis. Wondering what you think before I call an arborist. It’s very old and we didn’t want to lose it.

Expert Response

Thank you for your question and concerns about your Pin Oak tree. Yes there is a good

the possibility that this may be Chlorosis; however there may be underlying problems

causing this. It may be as simple as insufficient water or adjusting soil pH. A soil test and

analysis may be helpful in determining soil health and taking measures to correct it.

A certified Arborist would be able to give you a more definitive answer to your concerns as

they would have on-site access to the tree and soil conditions.

I have listed several links below that may give you a better understanding of Oak

problems and also have listed your County Extension Service if you wish to contact them.

I hope this information will be of some help to you concerning your Pin Oak.
