Dwarf Lilac #844259

Hi, I have dwarf Lilac that is covered with these. Husband thinks they will be flowers but I don't think so. Can you help?

Those are simply the fall fruits of the lilac, so your husband was close! They used to be this season's flowers, they were fertilized, and now the ovaries have swollen up into the fruits. You won't see next year's flower buds until later on over the winter. This is an information page on common lilac, but a dwarf lilac has the same structures.
