I have had a giant hornet//wasp outside of my front door since yesterday and I’m not able to get close enough to identify it by markings. It’s somewhere between 1.5-2” and definitely territorial. I ran across something like this in Washington state when I lived there and the state wanted to come collect it. I’m likely to call an exterminator because it’s blocking my front door, but I wanted to send this in for identification and make sure that information made its way through proper channels if need be. Sorry for the image quality that’s the closest I could safely get.
