Newly planted flowering crabapple tree is having leaves eaten. Please see picture. I saw one caterpillar yesterday but I didn't see other bugs except one Japanese Beatle once. What can I do to help tree?

Hello

Thanks for your question.  Can you please upload a couple more photos to help with a better diagnosis?  Please take a photo of the entire tree, so we can see overall what is occurring on the tree.  If you can take a photo of what the top leaf surface that will also be helpful.

Hello

It will really help if you upload a photo that shows the entire trunk of the tree.  From this photo it looks like there may be multiple trunks, and this isn't usually the case for crabapples.
When was the tree planted?  Do you know what cultivar and/or name of crabapple you have?
thank you
