Carolina Cherry Laurels #843030

Expert Response
Carolina Cherry Laurel, Prunus caroliniana, is hardy to zones 7-10. Living in Rogers County you would be considered the very northern edge of the hardiness range of this species. Placing them in a more protected area of the landscape will help with being successful with this species. Severe winters, like we've had a few times over the past few years, could result in winter kill.
Another related species that is slightly more cold tolerant is the common or English cherry laurel, Prunus laurocerasus.
