Anoka County Minnesota

Expert Response

It's most likely a strawberry root weevil. They enter structures in the summer looking for moisture. They are considered a nuisance, in that they are not harmful to people, pets, or structures. The use of pesticides is unnecessary and ineffective. Keeping them out is the best recourse - look for cracks, loose-fitting screens, or doors, that is usually how they get inside.
