Why do I have flowers but no zucchini? #842363

Asked July 24, 2023, 2:52 PM EDT

My zucchini (and summer squash) plants have plenty of flowers but only two zucchini have grown from them. Can you tell me why?

Hi Mary, thanks for the question.

Zucchini is pollinated by bees.   Squash bees are best, but honeybees will also help pollinate the plants. As long as you have both male and female flowers and are not getting zucchini you may have to hand pollinate.  Parthenocarpic varieties can produce fruit without pollination.   Check out the following links:

I hope this is helpful.
