Hi Robert,
There is a variety of free online resources available to the public that are based upon research from local University Horticulture Departments and the government.
https://ag.colorado.gov/conservation/noxious-weeds/noxious-weed-species-id/puncturevine
discusses Puncturevine briefly and then directs the reader to a Fact sheet PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ueJT_KBYuqTQ2wrC6I77QEhbDU2CQpJW/view
According to the Colorado Dept. of Agriculture; “Puncturevine is designated as a “List C” species on the Colorado Noxious Weed Act. It is required to be either eradicated, contained, or suppressed depending on the local jurisdictions managing this species. For more information, visit http://www.colorado.gov/ag/weeds and click on the Noxious Weed Program link. Or call the State Weed Coordinator at the Colorado Department of Agriculture, Conservation Services Division,<personal data hidden>.
The Fact Sheet offers both mechanical control as well as Herbicide control suggestions; Good Luck!
