Evergreens Turning brown / dying #840639

Hello: I have several evergreens on front of my house that are turning brown / dying. I have also noticed I'm not the only one in the neighbor hood that is having this issue. Could be related to a bad winter or some kind of disease/pest. Please advise. Thank you in advance for your help.

Your plant looks like a boxwood to me. Joe Boggs wrote an excellent article in the OSU publication BYGL. It is full of pictures to help you discover with some close observation what is the cause of the plant decline. There are also some ideas on the treatment of the plant for the different possible causes.
