Unfortunately both pea and bean plants have many insects that like to chew on their leaves. 

Based on the photos, both of these plants appear to be damaged by slugs. I would recommend going out at night and hand removing them.

There are many different things that are tried like coper wire around the base of the plant or beer traps. The latest thing to try, is yeast dough balls that you drop on to the soil.
