Is this an edible wild raspberry?

Unfortunately, this is an invasive weed called Wineberry. You can tell by the hairy stems and leaves. See the webpages below for more details.  The fruit is actually very tasty and eaten by lots of wildlife. The downside is that the seeds and vines can spread very easily and form very dense thickets. We would suggest you go ahead and eat the berries this year but eventually destroy the plant to prevent its spread. I hope this helps...Robin.

I’m surprised the deer hadn’t eaten all the fruit. Tons on it this year. Thought it was edible but wanted to make sure.
