This might be a better picture
You appear to have found an ant as opposed to a termite, spider, or beetle. It has bent antennae rather than straight antennae, three body parts, six legs, and a narrow waist.
Considering the size, I thought it might be a cicada killer wasp, but in your picture it does not appear to have wings. In case you’d like to learn more about them as they do exist in SW Ohio, you may want to read: https://entomology.ca.uky.edu/ef004

I’ve looked through a number of articles but have not found any ant living in Ohio that is over an inch long. According to several articles the largest ant in Ohio is about 5/8 inch and is a carpenter ant. At first, I thought it might be a citronella (yellow) ant because of the coloring in the first picture, but they’re about 1/8th inch long which is too small.
