I have a mature Merrill Magnolia that has oval whiteish colored fuzzy masses on the underside of stems. They are spaced about 6” apart along the entire length and all over the tree.
No other apparent damage visible yet.
What is this and what is the treatment. I can upload a photo

You have have mealybugs on your tree.

I would spray your tree with horticulture oil. You want to get on top of this before they get out of control.
