Dogwood tree showing signs of distress after planting #838085

I planted a Dogwood tree in my yard 3 weeks ago. It is in full sun most of the day, with warm winds. I live on a hill in the outskirts of Happy Valley, almost Damascus. The leaves are curling and some are turning red. I have clay soil which remains rather moist. I can't tell if it's a watering issue, a leaf scorch issue, a fertilizing issue etc. I am so afraid it’s going to die! What do you think is wrong and how can I keep it healthy / alive? Sincerely a novice tree mom.

Expert Response
Hello, again, Jessika! Unlike maples, dogwood trees do need water, but I suspect that the timing of planting it (during hot, dry summers) may doom it as well. Read the article I sent you in my response to the maple tree question, and keep your fingers crossed!
