Bugs on Plants #837574

Asked June 26, 2023, 11:51 AM EDT

Hello - I'm wondering if you can (1) help me identify what kind of bug is laying eggs/killing my Rose of Sharon plant and Burning Bush and (2) give some advice on what I should do to stop the bug from killing the plant. Thank you so much! Jessi

Expert Response

Hello Jessi,

I believe what you are seeing are aphids. I have included 2 attachments for your reading on identifying and treatment. The easiest method is simply to wash them off with a strong stream of water and possibly follow up with horticultural soaps or oils. the articles will explain in more detail.
