Asked June 22, 2023, 2:21 PM EDT

Fungus gnats have taken over my house and potted plants. I have tried solutions, sticky traps, plug in sticky blue light pads, sprays, gravel stones placed on dirt, etc. Nothing works (I have researched and tried to exhaustion and frustration). Please help!!!

Expert Response

Fungus gnat are a problem - especially on plants that have been outside and are then brought inside. There are a couple of good articles to read below.

The gnats are in the soil so you may want to repot them if you can. Spray them with water and then you can drench them with a weak solution of water and dishwashing soap. This is not a one and done. You will ahve to repeat this process a couple of times to get ahead of it.

Good luck!
