Insects on my cone flowers #835668

Asked June 14, 2023, 4:41 PM EDT

Hi - I went out to check on my yellow cone flowers(I think but could be yellow black eyed Susan’s) and the stems are covered in an insect or some type of larva. I cannot identify it and am wondering if you can? Curious if it’s invasive and I should cut the flowers down? Thanks!

These are aphids.  No need to cut your plants down. I have included a link with more information.
