What kind of plant is this? Found by my horse pasture.

This is a plant known as common Cinquefoil. A native plant genus that hosts both herbaceous, low growing plants and also woody shrubs.  The bloom will typically be yellow and daisy-like. http://ontariowildflowers.com/main/species.php?id=37
