Could you please identify who this chrysalis belongs to? It is on the side of a (unused) garbage can. It is approx. 3/4 - 1 inch long. It jerks away from touch.
I first noticed it on May16th, 2023

I cannot tell you for sure, but I believe this butterfly is one of the Admirals, subfamily Limenitidinae. It looks like the chrysalis may be damaged or diseased as the color does not look right to me.
