Is my Magnolia Tree sick? #831084
Asked May 20, 2023, 3:19 PM EDT
My Magnolia tree seems to be dropping more leaves and they are yellow or brown with black spots. I’m attaching pictures to see if it needs to be treated. Can you let me know what I should treat it with?

Hi,
This appears to us to be normal spring leaf drop and winter damage. If there are more than what seem usual for this time of year, it could be that it was exposed to harsher weather conditions this past winter or drought conditions that may have occurred in the past year.
The brown spots on the leaves look like typical winter damage that many broad leaf evergreen trees get from either extreme cold temperature changes or sun scald in the cold weather. See our webpage on winter damage/leaf scorch.
If you happen to see other signs or symptoms that see troublesome to you, feel free to reach out or send additional photos.
