Silver Leaf Disease? #830897

Asked May 19, 2023, 11:59 AM EDT

From everything I have seen I feel like this is likely silver leaf disease. How far back can I successfully trim my apple tree? I just purchased it this year and already got a refund so I feel like I might as well try if it's possible. And if not we will have Applewood for the smoker.

Good question and sorry to see this.

I am giving a you a link to some good information on how you may possibly save your tree. Fungal disease are every difficult to deal with. By the time you see the effects it has progressed significantly.

It is important to not prune trees surieng the growing season as this is when fungal diseases and others are transmitted. We recommend pruning apple trees during the dormant season and no later than march. Your tree may have already had the disease when you purchased it.
