what's wrong with my fig tree? weird leaves #829457

Asked May 11, 2023, 9:41 AM EDT

This fig tree has been healthy the past several years, but now the new leaves are coming in all puckered and misshapen. Does it have a disease or pests? will it affect the fruit? Can I do anything to help it? Thank you

Expert Response

Hi- we don't think that the symptoms were caused by a pest or disease. It's possible that buds or newly emerging leaves were slightly injured by one or more environmental factors like extreme temperatures, rapid temperature change, or low soil moisture. We expect that the leaves will grow and function normally. Let us know if the symptoms change or worsen.

Luckily, fig plants have few pest and disease problems.
