Arborvitae Deer Damage #825434

Asked April 13, 2023, 10:22 AM EDT

Deer ate most of my arborvitae evergreens this winter. Will there be new growth or should I remove them?

Expert Response

Check to see if there are buds on the branches.  If there are, new growth should appear.  You'll have to protect against deer damage in the future, however.  They love arborvitae. If there are no buds, the foliage won't regrow and you'll have to decide if you want to keep the trees.  Good luck.
