YOUR QUESTION #0094361:
Should I hard prune my dead-looking Skip Laurel bushes?
Hi, we have a row of 15 skip laurel bushes that had grown to 8ft and were doing incredibly well until this winter. They are all completely brown and dried out with no visible green anywhere. My question is, should we at least try to hard prune them to see if they come back? We had invested hundreds of dollars in creating a privacy hedge and want to see if we can save our investment. Is it worth the effort and how do you hard prune a laurel in an effort to revive it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!Ask Extension offers one-to-one expert answers from Cooperative Extension/University staff and volunteers within participating Land-Grant institutions across the United States.
