Can sticktight fleas lay eggs in a human as well as a dog ?? I'm in the UK, and I've had grain of sand like bits on my nape of the neck, I'm disabled and I think I had 1 sticktight flea attached to my scalp and then its layed eggs, is this possible. My dog used to sleep with me up until 3 months ago when this all started. Also I wear long sleeve pjs and socks. So that's why I think it's attached to my nape of my neck for 3 months now, I have had a lot of bites around my nape, and I'm showering constantly. But it's going. I've also been using essential oils on my skin.

Expert Response

Sticktight fleas do not lay eggs in their host. The adult flea attaches to the host to feed, but the eggs are dropped to the ground where they hatch and live on the ground during their immature life stages. The images you provided do not show a sticktight flea. It is recommended that you speak with a Dermatologist for additional advice.
