Milkweed, southeast mn #818219

Asked January 07, 2023, 1:07 AM EST

I would like to plant an area of milkweed in my yard. We have a corner we are planting for pollinators. Flowers on one side, peac, cranberry, blueberry, and a white pussy willows. We would like to plant milkweed on the other side. Will this work? Still a work in progress.. Any info would be great! (As you can see, I am not a photographer).

Expert Response

Milkweed will grow just about anywhere, so long as it receives full sun.

Several kinds of milkweed are attractive to colorful and interesting insects, including monarch butterflies.  Common milkweed, butterfly weed and swamp milkweed are most often grown here.
