Is this a bird mite or a rat mite? #817442

We have a home invasion of biting mites. Have not found a bird nest yet. We did see a rat cross our yard last week. Our house is over a crawl space. This mite was captured on skin. It is just under a centimeter. Photographed under dissecting scope.
