Shriveled Dahlia Tubers #817136

Asked December 01, 2022, 5:06 PM EST

Hi there… First time dahlia guy here. I dug up my tubers carefully and rinsed off the dirt. Kaye’s out in garage in well ventilated area by window. Checked on them a couple weeks later and they’ve shriveled up. Some look like a dried raisins…. What did I do wrong? Can I save them?

Thank you for your question, Josh.  Whether they can be revived depends upon how long they have been there, what the temperature in the garage is, and whether you followed the instructions in this piece closely enough:  https://s3.wp.wsu.edu/uploads/sites/2073/2020/05/10-12-18_Overwintering-Dahlias.pdf
You probably won't know if it's successful until next summer.  Good luck!
