Concord grape #817047

Asked November 29, 2022, 5:10 PM EST

Hi, I have 2 similar Concord grape Vines. They are planted 5ft apart. One had grapes this season, the other had exactly NONE. Would you please tell me how I can get both to produce fruit? I do not water them. They seem very green and healthy. They were planted about 6 or 7 years ago. Thank you, TW .

Thank you for your question, Tony.  I am uncertain what you mean by "similar" Concord grapevines.  Are they both grafted, and the other, not?  Have you ever pruned or thinned the canes and, if so, how did you do it?  Do you know how many growing degree days you have in your area?  Clackamas County is a very large area, and the GDD varies widely from south to north, and east to west.  Here is a comprehensive (and long) Extension article with all the information you need to have healthy, productive grape vines:  https://catalog.extension.oregonstate.edu/ec1639/html
Perhaps if you read it over the winter, you'll be ready to help get a prolific crop next year.  Good luck!
