non invasive evergreen hedge 9' tall suggestions? #816957

Asked November 27, 2022, 6:03 PM EST

I see Euonymus alatus Burning bush is listed on the invasive plant species.  Is it ok to use the Euonymus japonicus 'Green Spire' as a good and safe alternative for a 9' tall evergreen hedge?  Is it likely that in time this too will be placed on the invasive plant list?  I also looked at the  E. kiautschovicus 'Manhattan' but I see it is not likely to reach the desired height and is susceptible to Euonymous scale. I considered Boxwood but there does seem to be a lot of Boxwood blight around, so ruled that out unless you have other information.   I'd welcome your advice and recommendations. Thank you.

In order to best help you, it would be important to know a little about the area where you plan to plant these.  For instance, how many hours of sun per day that area gets if the soil drains well, does it slope or is it low/high, wind and what size space overall do you have to work with? Are you hoping to screen a view?
Many times we suggest not sticking to one particular plant in case a disease or pest arises that could take out the whole planting at once.
