identification of new shoreline plant #815377

Asked October 27, 2022, 4:10 PM EDT

This plant appeared very small two years ago but this year it has  grown significantly

Is it a good one to hold the shore against erosion from boat waves especially wake boats

If not good what is the best way to remove?

Oakland County Michigan

Expert Response

Hello and thank you for submitting your inquiry.

It is a little difficult to identify this plant based on the leaves alone. Can you share any other information about the plant that you can share from other seasons, for example what the flower looked like?

Since we are just going on leaves at this point, it could possibly be this invasive plant, but again, but we can't be sure unless we had other info:

Could you take a look at the descriptions of these plants and see if this might match what you have observed about this plant over the various seasons this year?

Thank you .
