Willow Tree trunk damage #815099

Asked October 24, 2022, 2:54 PM EDT

Part of our willow tree was torn away from a storm. It has a HUGE hole in the base of the trunk, Is there anyway to save/fix the tree. There are 3 more healthy trunks and it stands well over 50 feet.

Anoka County Minnesota

Expert Response

The damage looks like it goes pretty deep into the clump of trunks and that there's been some hollowing out. If the damage is deep it may not be possible to do much for the tree also considering its age. I would consult with an arborist - they can come out, assess, and provide guidance on next steps.
