Your picture is rather dark so it is difficult to see the exact color of the insect. However this looks like an adult boxelder bug. Please compare what you see to the pictures here to see if it’s a match. The article contains control information as well

If it is a different insect, please try to catch one in a jar, refrigerate or freeze it, then tip it out on a plain sheet of paper to take a bright, clear photo. Attach that photo here and we will get an ID for you.
