Bed Bugs? #813396

Asked October 06, 2022, 12:28 PM EDT

Hello, A couple years ago Professor Hahn helped me identify some bugs via photographs. I know UMN now does physical evals but before I go through the step of sending in any physical bug, I was wondering if that same photo ID service still exists? I have found a number of bugs that I think are bed bugs. I’ve attached photos. Some things worth nothing are that I’ve only ever seen these during the day, by my window and once on my desk. I have not found any brown spots or casings on the cracks of my bed etc. ..But they look like bed bugs. What do you think? Thank you, Nika

Expert Response

Professor Hahn has retired and has not been replaced. His expertise is greatly missed. The photo doesn’t isn’t high enough resolution to make an identification. There are bat bug look alikes.
