Garden Soil #813369

Asked October 06, 2022, 9:40 AM EDT

Where can I get my garden soil tested? I live in Wood County Ohio. The past two years, as always, I started my tomatoes from seed in peat pots then planted. Corn, pumpkin and cucumbers were started from seed in the ground. None of these did well. I also have strawberry plants that did not do well. A garden fertilizer was applied when plants came up.

Soil testing kits are available from the Franklin County Extension Office. A link is below with information on the details.

Soil testing is a valuable tool in knowing what is needed to amend soil to help get desirable results. Other factors are location of the garden e.g. full sun, shade, drainage, moisture content, what was planted in the location previously, etc. I wish you success in determining what is needed to make the soil in your garden the best for the plants you want to grow.
