Is it better to tenderize kitchen scraps for a small garden or leave them in pieces to do in garden composting?

This is a great question and takes me back more than 30 years. I used to pulverize all of my kitchen scraps in a blender. Finally, I decided it wasn't important.
Kitchen scraps are generally high in water - juicy - and so break down readily. You are correct that smaller particles break down faster than larger, and of course cooked breaks down faster than raw.
I think it's really a matter of personal preference.
