Big Leaf Maple Decline #811595

Asked September 20, 2022, 4:56 PM EDT

A local observation, not a question: Every mature Big Leaf Maple on both sides Dorland Road in the Tualatin Hills of Washington County is marked by BLM decline, increasingly noticeable over the past 5 years. The young growth from volunteers is not visibly affected. The regrowth from the BLM stumps on our recently logged 5 acres (June 2021) also show no sign of decline. Since this is year one of regrowth, I'll be watching how the leaf break goes next spring. I'm hoping they will survive this blight, for lack of a better term. PHOTO: Looking northwest
