Small Black Bug Identification #809157

Asked September 02, 2022, 9:39 AM EDT

Good morning - I have been encountering these tiny black bugs in my house lately - they're about the size of a dot if you were to press a pen against paper - and have no idea what they are and how to get rid of them. I'll notice them bc I'll suddenly feel one land on me. I got a bunch of pictures and a video of a live moving one with my iPhone and it's zoomed in great and really shows them. Without a zoom they appear as a tiny black spot/spec. I uploaded them to iCloud with a link: h ttps://www.icloud.com/photos/#0d87qI9J9ZCEvut11GOYAuVww I was hoping you could possibly help me identify these so I know what to get to get rid of them. I've attached a few photos as well but that link has the video which may be the best way to identify. Again these things are tiny and I've killed quite a few over the last couple weeks inside my house - usually notice if they land on me. Thank you!

I cannot access your video, but the pics you sent are of ants.  Some that invade houses can be as small as 1/16”.  I suggest you read this article from NCSU, https://content.ces.ncsu.edu/a-guide-to-house-invading-ants-and-their-control.  They provide ideas for control measures.  Ants are not winged at this time of year, but they may be falling on you from the ceiling if you find them dropping onto you.  Without having an exterminator come to your house, you might try ant baits.  These will not only kill the ants because they take it back to the colony, but if they are ants, expect to find many feeding at your baits.
