Good Morning Patricia,
I am attaching a link: https://trees.umn.edu/northern-strain-redbud-cercis-canadensis-northern-strain to the U of M website that discusses redbud trees.
And from the Missouri Botanical Gardens: https://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/PlantFinder/PlantFinderDetails.aspx?taxonid=263859&isprofile=0
The above information indicates the tree could be subject to Japanese beetles (holes in the leaves) and verticillium wilt. This link: https://hort.extension.wisc.edu/articles/verticillium-wilt-of-trees-and-shrubs/ discusses the wilt.
The above information indicates that the leaves will turn yellow in the fall.
I also have a redbud tree that I love! Good Luck!
