Is this Agrilus cyanescens? #807334

I noticed this small insect on a plant being visited by a Honeybee. I was glad to have them both in the same photo for size comparison. The small greenish insect looked more Agrilus cyanescens than any other I could find to identify it. iNaturalist was no help at all. Your feedback would be helpful. Photo taken July 22, 2022

Hi Patricia and thanks for your great photos of the mystery insect. I don't believe it is an Agrilus as I can see a small triangle on its back which puts it in the Hemiptera family of True Bugs. My closest ID would be Irbisia pacifica, the Pacific Grass Bug which has may similar species but very distinct antennae which I can't really see in your picture. Try some images for "True Bugs" on the internet and see if you can match what you saw and recorded. There is not much information on Irbisia pacifica but it is in Oregon and has been seen in this area.
Thanks again for your pictures!

Dear Rhonda,
Thanks so much for your detailed response to my question! I really appreciate it. I will check out Irbisia pacifica and other images for “True Bugs.” It’s always fun identifying what I see, no matter what type of critter.
Gratefully,
Pat Crane
