Strange growths on jasmine vines #805964

Asked August 12, 2022, 2:00 PM EDT

Strange growths on jasmine vines please see photo. I am seeing these buff colored, stalactite like protuberances on the stems of my jasmine vine. Could they be Insect eggs? Do I need to do something? Many thanks for your help, Ila

Expert Response

I believe they are aerial roots. Rub your finger over them. If they are attached they are roots.

Thanks for the question.

Dear Paul,

Wow! I would’ve never guessed! So if I cut below it this root area and stick the cut stem in water, these roots will grow and I can get a new plant?
Many thanks,
Ila

Yes, make sure there are few leaves on the cutting.

Thanks
