Dutch Elm treatment options #804612

Asked August 04, 2022, 12:32 PM EDT

I am treating 4-5 elms in my yard to stave off Dutch Elm disease. I'm using an injection method using Chem Jet Tree Injectors and am curious if there is a better/easier way such as a root drench approach? Thank you, Rory <personal data hidden>

Expert Response

Dear Rory,
Regretfully, at this time there is no better approach.
I suggest you talk with your certified arborist, who I assume is helping with your injection, to see if they recommend using an additional insecticidal spray on the barkto stave off beetles. This can be used in concert with the injection, but neither is a long-term treatment.
